Just a walking (or running) distance from Crescent Beach in Cape Elizabeth, the runners in the 15th TD Beach to Beacon 10K road race start their trek on Route 77 to the beacon — well, make that Portland Head Light — also in Cape Elizabeth.Gabe Souza/Staff Photographer

Race fans keep watch from the top of Fort Williams as Ethan Shaw of Falmouth crosses the line to become the winner of the Maine men’s division.Shawn Patrick Ouellette/Staff Photographer

The race is over but one small hill remains for the runners, who are funneled out of the finish area to make way for other finishers. One good thing — food, water and results are available beyond the top of the hill.Let the adults worry about the race and their times. Zachary Libby, 3, of Turner has something else on his mind. He just enjoys playing in the misting tent near the finish line.Gabe Souza/ Staff Photographer
