READFIELD — Behind a solid performance from Josiah Kenney and Michael Schotterbeck, the Sugg Middle School boys cross country team finished in second place in a meet at Maranacook Middle School on Thursday.
Kenney was second to Maranacook’s Zachary Davidson in 12:31.50, just ahead of teammate Schotterbeck, who crossed the finish line in 12:43.40.
Maranacook won the meet with 28 points, with the Greyhounds edging out Gardiner 63-67. Cony was fourth (88) and Windsor fifth (118).
Other Greyhound runners were Kyle Provencal (14th, 14:05.34), Silas Crosby (21st, 14:39.74), Mitchell Porter (26th, 15:06.99), Geoffrey Shamberger (38th, 18:59.06) and Jacob Brooks (39th 19:13.68).
In the girls meet, Cony’s Anne and Cecilian Guadulupi were first and second, respectively.
Sugg’s Kaylin Le’s time of 13:07.26 was good for fourth overall, with teammates Bailey
Eveson finishing 14th in 15:35.88 and Emily Chase 29th in 20:04.03.
Cony won the meet with 19 points, with Maranacook (37) second and Gardiner (77) third.
