To the Editor:

I am writing to express my strong support for Don Russell as selectman.

I have had the privilege of serving two years as a Selectman with Don and have seen his strong commitment to Topsham and his fair and even-handed approach to solving problems.

I am continually amazed at his devotion to Topsham, demonstrated by his continued attendance at so many different town board meetings, in order to be as well-informed about the issues and concerns facing Topsham as possible.

And this is nothing new for him. Don has a lifetime of service to Topsham, giving him a unique ability to craft solutions and consider alternatives that those of us on the board with less experience cannot do. His institutional knowledge of the history of the town is invaluable and cannot be replaced. It would be a shame to lose a selectman with such a wealth of experience, common-sense problem solving and unwavering devotion to the best interests of Topsham.

I believe Topsham will be best served by re-electing Don Russell selectman.
