Clara Levesque

BRUNSWICK — Clara Levesque, 82, of 20 Breckan Road, died Sunday, at Mid Coast Senior Health Care Center, Baribeau Drive.

She was born in Brunswick, May 26, 1930 the daughter of Clarence and Velma White Dixon.

She was married to Roger Levesque who died in 1983.

Mrs. Levesque was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed following her children and grandchildren in their activities. She was especially proud of her husband’s football career at Bowdoin College and her grandson Roger’s soccer career at Stanford and with the Seattle Sounders of the MLS.

She loved children and animals and would often take care of them for family and neighbors. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, and was a volunteer painting instructor to senior citizens. She also delivered for “Meals on Wheels.”

The family would like to thank Clara’s special caregiver, Betty Chesley, and the caring staff at Mere Point Nursing Home and CHANS Hospice Care.

She is survived by two sons, Roger Levesque and his wife, Carolyn of Westbrook and Jim Levesque and his wife, Ellen of Bowdoin; two daughters, Nancy Heckley and her husband Tom and Marcy Holmblad and her husband David all of Brunswick; a brother, Richard Dixon of Bangor, a longtime friend, Ray Lebel of Brunswick and 13 grandchildren, Roger, Andrew, Caleb, Abby, Adam and Christine Levesque and Katelyn, Jeremy and Joseph Heckley, Allison Levesque Feakins, Hannah Levesque Leatherman, and Anna and Seth Holmblad; two step granddaughters, Marissa and Julia Martel and a great grandson, Asher Levesque.

A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, McKeen Street, Brunswick. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in the Spring.
