She was born in Pusan, South Korea, June 5, 1937 the oldest of 9 children born to Jae Ho Kim and Cha Ok Choo She was educated in Pusan schools and graduated from Namsung Girls High School class of 1956. She was employed by Shinhung Trading CO, LTD and later opted to become a beautician. On December 29, 1965, she and Albert L. Wrenn were married at The U.S. Embassy in Seoul, Korea. She and her husband along with their son came to the U.S. in December 1969 and settled in Lisbon. She became a naturalized U.S. Citizen in the bicentennial year 1976 and was very proud of this accomplishment. Later on in life, in order to learn more about her adopted country she enrolled in The Mt. Ararat Adult Diploma Program and graduated on June 2, 1991.
Kim was not afraid of hard work and spent time as a fancy stitcher in the shoe industry in Auburn and Lewiston at Bonan and Dori Shoes. She also worked as a parts inspector at Phillips Elmet until she was laid off. She then worked for the State of Maine at Pineland Center for 21 years, first as a seamstress and later in the physical therapy department doing upholstery modification for adaptive equipment used by individuals with multiple handicaps. She retired from state service on August 29, 1997.
She is survived by her husband, her son Patrick C. Wrenn and his wife Rebecca and their children Christopher, Cameron, Caitlin, Caleb, Colin and Chloe, step son Richard A. Wrenn and his wife Barbara, step daughters Laura J. Steen and her husband Kelly, Lita A. Thisselle and her husband Wayne, brother in law Wayne A. Wrenn and sister in law Nadia A. Finley and her husband David, also special cousin in law Levi and Barbara Ross.
She will be remembered as a sweet, loving wife and mother who always saw to others needs before her own. Her stay on earth was too short but she made a big difference in the lives of many others. Now she has joined the angels in heaven where she so rightfully belongs. Love you, Miss you and will rejoin you someday.
Visitation will be at Crosman Funeral Home, Sunday 2-4 and 6-8. Funeral will be on Monday at the funeral home at 10 AM. Committal will be held at a later date at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery MT.
