Baxter Academy for Technology & Science in Portland has begun accepting applications for potential students to enroll at the school. The school is the third public charter school to be approved by the Maine Charter Schools Commission.
The school is accepting applications for students entering the ninth and 10th grades in the fall of 2013. The school is capping enrollment at 80 students per grade.
Students interested in applying to the school should visit www.baxteracademy.org to fill out an application.
Two enrollment information sessions are scheduled: 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, and Thursday, Jan. 10, both at the University of Southern Maine.
There is also an open house scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Baxter Academy, 54 York Street in Portland.
