Col. Gerard Bolduc, vice wing commander, 101st Air Refueling Wing, was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in a ceremony held Feb. 3 at the South Portland Air National Guard Station. Brig. Gen. James Campbell, the Adjutant General, Maine National Guard, presided over the promotion. Bolduc is a graduate of Greely High School in Cumberland, and is a Cumberland County native. 

Army Spec. Jaren D. Parras has returned to the United States after being deployed overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He is the son of Norma and Anthony Potenzo of South Portland and is a 2011 graduate of South Portland High School. Parras is a gunner assigned to the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He has served in the military for two years. 

Army Spec. Alfred K. Angelo has returned to the United States after being deployed overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Angelo is a human resource specialist assigned to the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He is the son of Mary Ben and stepson of Mary Tutuliano, both of Portland, and is a 1999 graduate of Portland High School. He graduated from the University of New England, Biddeford, in 2006 and has served in the military for one year.
