CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Paced by first-place finishes from Sheldon Allen and Ryan Storey, the University of Southern Maine men’s outdoor track and field team finished third among the four teams competing at the M.I.T. Quad Meet on Saturday at the Henry G. Steinbrenner Track.
Host M.I.T. won the meet, scoring 246.50 points, followed by Bates College with 229, Southern Maine with 115.50 and Colby College with 85.
Allen won the 110-meter hurdles with his time of 14.92 seconds, while Storey took the top spot in the high jump by clearing 6-04.
Earning a second-place finish was senior Parker Chipman of Pownal in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.41.
The4x400relaycombination of Jeremy Collins, Kevin Desmond, Daniel Webb and Chipman finished second with a time of 3:21.69.
The Huskies return to competition on Saturday (noon) when they travel to Bates College for the State of Maine Championships.
