To the Editor:
I read The Times Record on May 23 in reference to the immediate resignation of (Brunswick High School Principal) Art Abelmann (”Abelmann quits,” Page A1).
They talked about paying him after he resigned. If you people are that stupid, I’m retired, and I’ll sign a contract with the School Department for a large sum like you were paying him. Then, after a year, I’ll resign because I’m sick of my job and still get the contract money.
Here we are in Brunswick trying to rebuild everything that has a leaking roof that could have been repaired years ago, then we have people on some committee that want to change everything in Brunswick so we will be like large cities.
I was born here and lived here all my life. I love it, and I’m too old now to pay more taxes.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
