BRUNSWICK — Virginia M. Linkovich, 88, of 33 Longfellow Ave., died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Bodwell House, Mid Coast Senior Health Care.

She was born in Haverhill, MA, February 12, 1925, the daughter of Jacob and Rose Markarian Simonian. She graduated from Nashua High School, class of 1943. Mrs. Linkovich moved to Maine following her marriage to Mike Linkovich in Nashua on November 24, 1960.

She was employed for 20 years as a secretary at Bowdoin College in the History, Economics and Government departments.

She was a member and volunteer of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and of People Plus where she was actively involved in both the Bridge and Cribbage Groups. Mrs. Linkovich was a former member of the Brunswick Golf Club and on the Board of Directors of the Stevens Home.

Mrs. Linkovich is survived by her husband of Brunswick; two sons, Steven M. Linkovich and his wife Denise of Groveland, MA, and Michael J. Linkovich and his wife Francine of Boynton Beach, FL., a sister Barbara Vaughan of Edinboro, PA., a brother Martin Badoian of Sharon, MA, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Elizabeth Demakis.

Friends are invited to visit from 5-7 pm Wednesday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Thursday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 27 Pleasant Street, Brunswick. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

The family would especially like to thank Dr. Timothy Howe, Dr. Stephen Boyd and the nursing staff at Parkview Adventist Medical Center, Bodwell House and of Hospice Care.
