NEW FACES

• Colleen Ippolito was hired at MaineToday Media as director of human resources.

Ippolito, of Cumberland, brings more than 12 years of experience in the HR field to MTM. Her expertise includes employee relations, benefit plan design and administration, workforce training and organizational development, policy development and implementation and employment law compliance.

Most recently, Ippolito served as human resources manager for Pierce Atwood.

Prior to that, she held positions as director of human resources for Northeast Bank and human resources manager for Sunday River Ski Resort. 

• BerryDunn hired several people:

Justin Davis, Karen Jones, Evan Kohn and Samantha Ostrom joined the firm’s government consulting group.

Claire Eaton joined the management and information technology group.

Danielle Baron, Nathaniel Dunlap, Jeffrey Grzesik, Preston Kinney, Kristine Reynolds and Zachary Scrutchfield joined BerryDunn as staff accountants.

Kevin Penley joined its diversified commercial group.

Haley Israelson joined the tax consulting and compliance group.

Nicholas Zagorianakos has joined its information technology group.

• Craig Hawkins, M.D., a board certified urologist for nearly 20 years, joined Mid Coast Medical Group — Urology and the active medical staff of Mid Coast Hospital.

He specializes in disorders of the urinary tract in men and women with a focus on bladder cancer. He remains on the medical staff of Maine Medical Center in Portland as a member of Maine Medical Partners — Urology.

• Sharon Ware joined Maine Community Health Options as a benefits consultant.

Ware, of Scarborough, has 22 years of experience working at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine. She served in a variety of roles, ranging from claims and member services to marketing and account management. Most recently, she worked as an account executive at Martin’s Point Health Care.

• Kenneth Nguyen was hired as a senior electrical designer and project manager at Allied Engineering.

Nguyen has more than  27 years of experience.

• Wright-Ryan Construction Inc. hired Ryan Sylvia and Sean Keay.

Sylvia joined the firm as project engineer in the commercial construction division. He is a recent graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in construction management technology and minors in both engineering entrepreneurship and surveying.

Keay was hired as an estimator for preconstruction services. He has six years of experience as a carpenter and worked for two years in estimating and construction management.

• Keiko F. Myer joined Macpage LLC as an audit staff accountant.

Keiko lives in southern Maine and previously worked as an accounting supervisor at a university and an accounting coordinator at a marketing firm.

PROMOTIONS

• Wright-Ryan Construction Inc. promoted two people in its staff.

Rodney Collard was named assistant project manager. He joined the firm as a commercial project engineer in 2011 and was recently involved in Portland’s new Elm Terrace affordable family housing property and the Waterville police station.

Jim Giberson was promoted to commercial marketing coordinator. Most recently, he served as an assistant superintendent for Wright-Ryan.

• Michael A. Ricci, M.D., was named chief of vascular surgery at the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute in Lewiston.

He began his work as a vascular surgeon at Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute in Lewiston on June 2012, specializing in disease of the vascular system. He is a professor of surgery emeritus at the University of Vermont, where he worked for 23 years; and has co-authored more than 100 scientific articles on vascular surgery, telemedicine, simulation, and operating room safety.

• Nicholas Weightman was promoted to small-business relationship manager at TD Bank in Portland.

Weightman, of Portland, joined TD Bank in 2011 as a commercial credit analyst I before his most recent position as assistant vice president, commercial credit analyst II.

AWARDS

• Deb Alpern, a palliative care social worker at Mid Coast Hospital since 2000, received the Social Work Leader of the Year Award from the Maine Chapter of the Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care.

Alpern was recognized for her clinical work and her commitment to sharing expertise of palliative care through education and awareness.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

• The Maine Center for Creativity elected new officers at its annual meeting in June.

Katherine Greenleaf of Greenleaf Consulting, was named president. Jamie Morin, senior vice president of client operations at WEX Inc., was named vice president. Tom MacDonald, senior vice president of Mechanic Savings Bank, was named treasurer. And Alan Atkins of Atkins Chowdry LLC was appointed clerk.

Sam Sezak, a partner at Blue Heron Capital, and Linda Varrell, founder of Broadreach Public Relations, also joined the board.

• David Jean, a principal with Albin, Randall & Bennett, was elected president of Real Estate and Construction Advisors Association.

Jean specializes primarily in financial accounting and consulting for construction, manufacturing and real estate development companies. He will serve a two-year term.

GENERAL

• Clark Insurance moved its Windham office of over 30 years to the Gorham Savings Bank building, 766 Roosevelt Trail.

The Clark Insurance telephone number will remain the same. Office hours have been changed to 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Arthur Marshall Jr., Seth Webber and Lydia Atwood of BerryDunn received the certified valuation analyst credential from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Marshall and Webber are senior managers for BerryDunn’s Valuation & Forensic Services Group and Atwood is a manager for the group.
