BOWDOINHAM
The public is invited to a business workshop Tuesday to learn about new health care reform changes slated for 2014 as part of the Affordable Care Act.
The workshop is at 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the second floor meeting room of the Coombs Municipal Building, 13 School St.
The workshop is an informal, informational session “on a topic that is rife with emotions and misinformation. Questions and some discussion on the topics will be entertained and answered as time allows,” the workshop announcement states.
The workshop will cover the following:
— What is the Health Insurance Marketplace that opened Oct.1 ?
— Who will qualify for federal subsidies? Are there other options?
— What is cost sharing and how does it work?
— How does the government get involved in your medical care (hint: it doesn’t)
— When does it take effect, when do I have to sign up, and what if I don’t?
The speaker, Wayne Ladner, of Richmond has been a licensed agent for health and life insurance policies since 2004

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
