We waited a month to see what law enforcement would do in the Oct. 3 incident in which a Georgetown man was shot three times in the torso and killed in front of friends and family in Yarmouth. It was plain to us (not knowing all the evidence) that this was a killing that didn’t have to happen.
Strange a grand jury — but not the DA — made a similar conclusion, charging Merrill Kimball with murder Friday in the shooting death of Leon Kelley. The wheels of justice turn slowly — but they do turn. It will be interesting to see if Kimball is allowed bail. Not many alleged murderers are.
