WOOLWICH, ME/SHALLOTTE, NC — Virginia “Ginny” Rose (Richard) Partridge passed away with her children by her side, after a period of declining health, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013.

She was born in Bath, Maine, on Nov. 28, 1938, the second daughter of Albert R. and Gladys I. (Wade) Richard. She attended Woolwich and Bath schools.

As a young woman, she lived in Woolwich, ME, where she was a homemaker and a school bus driver.

She met and married her soul mate, Ernest “Skip” Partridge Jr. in 1974. Together with her children, she and Skip traveled the East Coast. They settled in Shallotte, NC, where the weather was warm and she was close to the ocean, her favorite place.

After her children were grown, she was a personal caregiver for many years.

Ginny’s favorite pastimes included fishing, going to yard sales, and going out for a good “rare” steak. She also enjoyed ice skating and crocheting.

She was predeceased by her parents in 1998 and her husband Skip Partridge in 2009. She is survived by two sons, Albert R. Partridge of Shallotte, NC and Stanley E. Merry of Martha’s Vineyard, MA; one daughter, Valerie J. Merry Coke of Martha’s Vineyard, MA; four sisters, Alberta R. Cope and her husband Henry of Dresden, ME, Judith R. Kenney and her partner David E. Crocker Sr. of Woolwich, ME, Renee J. Pease of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Denise M. Miller and her husband Gary of Anchorage, AK; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Per her request, there will be no services. Ginny will be cremated. Her ashes, along with those of her husband, will be set free in the ocean, where they will travel the world together for eternity.
