TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee boys basketball team lost to Messalonskee, 59-43 and nipped Oxford Hills, 46-43 in recent action.
Against Messalonskee, the Eagles trailed 12-10, 30-19 and 45-37.
Eric Segars led with 14 points and Zach Garvey had 12.
Nathan Violette paced Messalonskee with 17 points and Steve Binette added 12. Messalonskee led in rebounding 36-34.
At the line, Mt. Ararat was four of nine and Messalonskee five of eight.
In the win over Oxford Hills, Mt. Ararat led 14-12 after one, trailed 25-23 at the half and went back up 34-30 at the third-quarter break.
Harper Moutal scored 10 points, while Garvey and Liam Brannigan chipped in nine each.
Jacob Yates scored 16 for the Vikings.
Mt. Ararat was 13 of 26 at the line (Cam Cox was 4-of-4 down the stretch) and OH nine of 22.
Mt. Ararat was outrebounded 32-28, with Moutal grabbing six.
