BIDDEFORD — Russell S. McLain, 22, of Biddeford, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at his home, following a long illness.

He always had a ready smile or laugh. His eyes always said it all. His greatest joy was going to nursing home ministries, church and eating out.

He will be greatly missed by: his parents, Philip and Brenda McLain; two sisters, Corrie Mobley and her husband Michael and their daughter Shelby Mobley, and Bethsheann Gay and her husband Michael and their children Felicity and Natalie Gay; one brother, Philip McLain Jr.; and more family and friends who are much appreciated and loved.

Heaven is celebrating tonight. God decided to take his rusty, little angel home. He had been an angel on Earth for 22 years. On Earth, he didn’t walk, didn’t talk, but said more in one day of living than people who lived over 60 years said in their whole life.

He walked down a rougher road than any of us, but tonight there is a party in heaven ’cause he’s walking, talking and telling his stories of how he touched the lives of everyone who ever met him. He is singing the happiest song that any of us have ever heard.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rusty’s memory may be made to: Biddeford Estates Resident Activities Fund, 2 Dartmouth St., Biddeford, ME 04005.
