
He was born in Brunswick, on Nov. 10, 1922, son of Howard L. and Mary Manwaring Williams and attended Brunswick schools.
He married Mabel Copp on Aug. 17, 1940.
Howard served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He was a woodsman and later worked at Bath Iron Works, retiring after 34 years in 1985.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, a son David, seven brothers, Gil, Sterling, Russell, Richard, James, Kenneth and Donald, and two sisters, Evangline and Julia.
He is survived by a son, Ronald, two daughters Carol and her husband Raymond Bisson and Deanna and her husband Norman Thibeault; six grandchildren, Richard, David and Gary Thibeault and Robert, Michael and Nathan Bisson. Nine great-grandchildren, Richard, Tiffany (Hamilton), Amanda, Ericka, Whitney and Kourtney Thibeault and Haley, Jake and Cameron Bisson; four great-greatgrandchildren, Sophie, Priscilla, Emma and Holly; three sister-in-laws, Laverne Williams, Margaret Austin and Josephine Bell, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7 at Varney Cemetery, Pine Street, Brunswick. For those unable to attend, condolences to the family may be made at www.brackettfuneralhome.com.
