BATH
Images of a pickup truck placed on the Bath Police Department Facebook page helped police locate the vehicle and charge the driver.
Bath Police Lt. Robert Savery said police arrested Jared Drown of South Hope and charged him with operating after habitual revocation (Class C) and leaving the scene of an attended motor vehicle accident (Class D). He was unable to pose $500 bail and was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail.
Savary said two vehicles were involved in a minor collision on King Street on July 7 at around 9:40 a.m. One of them was a blue pickup truck driven by Drown, who allegedly said he would stop so the drivers could exchange information, but instead left the scene traveling south on Washington Street.
Savary said police posted images of the truck captured by Bath Iron Works surveillance cameras on its Facebook page and the public was able to provide the location of the truck.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
