NASHUA, N.H. — Nashua starting pitcher Jake Mellin allowed six five hits while striking out six and walking none in seven shutout innings as the Silver Knights beat the Old Orchard Beach raging Tide 6-0 in a FCBL game on Friday night at Holman Stadium.
Mellin, who entered with a 5.59 ERA, was relieved by Lucas Olen, who pitched two scoreless innings to complete the shutout.
Nashua (19-18) scored five times in five innings off OOB (12-25) starter Dakota Edwards, including three times in the first. Leadoff hitter Matt Sanchez led the offensive charge for the Sliver Knights, going 1-for-3 with two runs sscored and two RBI. Ryan Sullivan, Carson Helms and Matt Mottola also each had a RBI, while designated hitter Mike Geannelis also had a pair of hits.
Chandler Wagoner was the only Raging Tide batter with two hits.
