BANGOR — The fire chief of Maine’s third-largest city is resigning.
WABI-TV says Scott Lucas will remain with the Bangor Fire Department until December, when his contract expires. Lucas came to Bangor in December 2012 from Westland Fire Department in Michigan. He had been that department’s assistant fire chief.
Bangor City Manager Cathy Conlow confirms Lucas is resigning. Conlow says Lucas will assist his successor in taking over the position.
The city paid Lucas a salary of $81,754 when he was initially hired from a field of 49 candidates. Jeff Cammack retired in 2012 after 15 years as chief.
