I have a single purpose in writing this open letter: To ask your consideration in supporting Patty Hymanson as Maine District 4 House representative. My personal support of Patty Hymanson comes after many years of working with her while she was a member and chair of the York School Committee.
Before retiring as superintendent of schools in York, I had the opportunity to engage with Patty over such topics as educational policy, personnel decisions, teacher negotiations and student issues. She consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to taking what she believed was the right course of action. Always considerate of differing points of view and valuing the input from others, she is a woman of action and a proven leader and decision-maker. She clearly can be assertive and tenacious, two qualities that, I believe, will serve her well in the Legislature. She has a strong vision and clear sense of the overall picture that will help guide the direction of our state.
Her effective collaboration skills can be put to great use in the Legislature. Given our current political situation in Maine, the need is evident for legislators who are willing to collaborate, work together and come to common ground in a way that will benefit the people of Maine. Patty understands the process of change, and the need to engage all constituencies to invest in a solution. The track record of Patty Hymanson is evident, and her ability to get the job done is proven. She is passionate in her beliefs and possesses a strong commitment to her moral compass. Making decisions and doing what she believes is right is her legacy, and I am confident this will transfer to the Maine Legislature.
I believe Patty Hymanson possesses the commitment, drive and leadership to make needed change happen in Maine. Please join with me in supporting Patty Hymanson as our next Maine District 4 House representative.
