Halloween at the Y

FREEPORT — Casco Bay YMCA will hold a Halloween event tonight, October 24, from 6-8 p.m. Join them for a night of creepy games, ghoulish crafts and icky treats sure to please costumed participants. Check out the moon bounce, shake a leg at the dance party, and have your fortune read, if you dare.

And last but not least, brave the Haunted Trail, an interactive trail of frights and scares, bigger and better than ever!

Please bring a donation for the food bank.

The YMCA is located at 14 Old South Freeport Road, Freeport.

New Rockport Halloween party

ROCKPORT — On Oct. 31, the Rockport Public Library invites you to join us in a new tradition, our Library Halloween Party! There will be Halloween Happenings beginning at 4 p.m. and the library is staying open until 6:30 p.m. Come join us for a fun filled evening of thrills and chills at the Library. There will be refreshments, a haunted book-talk station and face-painting. In the children’s room we will be making Spooktacular treat bags, Boooo-marks and painting pumpkins. We can’t wait to see everyone’s costumes and have a scary good time.

Little Shop of Horrors at Lisbon High

LISBON – Lisbon High School Drama Club proudly presents Little Shop of Horrors! What better way to spend Halloween weekend than enjoying a doo-wop spoof of 1950s sci-fi disaster movies? Little Shop of Horrors follows the misadventures of Seymour, a downand out floral assistant who longs to get the girl of his dreams and escape life on skid row. He becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon “Audrey II” grows into an illtempered, R&B-singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite, finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global domination! Laced with dark humor and irresistible music, Little Shop of Horrors is one of the longest-running off-Broadway shows of all time. Book & Lyrics by Howard Ashman, Music by Alan Menken, Based on the film by Roger Corman, Screenplay by Charles Griffith. Performances are scheduled for Friday, October 31 through Sunday, November 2, 2014. Friday &Saturday nights at 7:00 pm, Sunday Matinee at 2:00 pm in the LHS GYM, 2 Sugg Drive Lisbon Falls. Tickets $5.00 at the door. Performance run time is 2 hours with one 15- minute intermission. Little Shop of Horrors contains comic horror violence, mild language and sexual references. Ghost stories at Maine Coast Books

DAMARISCOTTA — Do you have a true ghost story you’d like to tell, or know someone who does? The bookshop welcomes you to “Ghost Night, Thursday, Oct. 30 at 8 p.m… join the bookshop staff along with Greg Latimer, author of Haunted Damariscotta, and horror illustrator, Glen Chadbourne, as they dim the lights and pull up a chair. Looking for anyone who has had a personal experience with the paranormal to share… so come on in, don’t be frightened! Ask for Lauri at 563-3207. Adults only.
