BANGOR (AP) — Authorities have arrested a man they allege robbed a Guilford pharmacy in 2012 and made his escape in a stolen U.S. Postal Service truck.

Michael Thompson, of Corinna, was held without bail at his initial appearance Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Bangor.

The 26-year-old Thompson was arrested today in connection with a robbery at a Rite Aid in Guilford in March 2012.

WABI-TV reports that Thompson confessed to that crime in July when he was arrested after a high-speed chase in Ripley that ended when he rolled a stolen truck.

Police say he wielded a knife during the pharmacy robbery and stole prescription painkillers. Someone who realized a robbery was underway moved Thompson’s running getaway vehicle, so he drove off in the mail truck.
