LEWISTON — “Pay 2 Play: Democracy’s High Stakes,” a fun and inspiring film about money in politics and its effect on our democracy, will be screened at Bates College at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, in Olin Arts Center, Room 104, 75 Russell St.

Sponsored by the Harward Center for Community Partnerships at Bates, the screening is open to the public at no cost. For more information, please call 207-786- 6202.

The screening takes place on the fifth anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision, which allows for unregulated campaign spending by corporations and unions during elections. The screening is part of the National College Screening Day of this new documentary by filmmaker John Wellington Ennis.

“Pay 2 Play” shows how this Supreme Court decision has affected people outside corporate America. Ennis journeys through high drama on the Ohio campaign trail, uncovers the secret history of the game Monopoly and explores the underworld of L.A. street art on a humorous odyssey that reveals how much of a difference one person can make.
