OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Richard D. Auger Sr., 77, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Friday afternoon on Jan. 23, 2015, at Seal Rock Healthcare in Saco.
He was born in Biddeford on May 19, 1937, a son of Desire and Leila (Bouth-illette) Auger.
Richard served in the U.S. Army from March 1956 to September 1964.
In 1965, he was employed by Midas Muffler for 28 years, leaving in 1993. From 1993 to 1998, he worked for Biddeford Textile.
Richard was an avid hunter.
He enjoyed gardening and picture puzzles.
He was preceded in death by: five brothers, Phillip, Maurice, Norman, Renald and Robert; and three sisters, Rita Daigle, Lena Grenier and Lucille Labbe.
He is survived by: his wife of 44 years, Rosalie (Perry) Auger; three sons, Richard D. Auger Jr., Rodney P. Auger and his wife Heather, and Russell L. Auger; a daughter, Kathleen Luce; four sisters, Rachel Ruel, Claire Credit, Mignonne Nelson and Frances Auger; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. Entombment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
