SACO — Aline F. Thibeault, 98, of Saco, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

She was born Oct. 2, 1916 in Biddeford, the daughter of Wilfred and Antonia (Demers) Cote.

On Nov. 26, 1936, she married Oswald Thibeault. They shared 45 years together before his death in 1981. When she met Oswald, he was friends with her brother Willie.

Aline worked more than 20 years at Bates Manufacturing company in Saco, then went to work at Clarostat in Dover, New Hampshire for 14 years. She then worked for Fairchild Semiconductor in South Portland for 10 years before retiring in 1982.

As a young lady, Aline went ice skating at West Brook Skating Rink. Her favorite restaurant was Huot’s at Camp Ellis. She loved their scallops and looked forward to going out to eat with her family.

In the summer, Aline would go swimming at Fortunes Rocks every Sunday with her children. She would pack a lunch and stay at the beach all day.

Aline was known for her excellent memory; she always remembered events and dates. She was also known for her homemade soup and pies which she shared with everyone.

Living by a routine, she would go to 4 o’clock mass at St. Andre’s and then to Alex’s Pizza. She enjoyed going on trips with senior citizens and her many friends.

In January 2010, after her brother-in-law and companion Arthur Hubert passed away, Aline moved to the assisted living facility at Atlantic Heights in Saco. While there, she looked out for everyone, even though she was legally blind with macular degeneration and bound to a wheelchair.

She is preceded in death by: three sisters, Fernande Amnotte, Rachel Miller, and Yvonne Cote; and four brothers, Wilfred, William, Roger and Robert Cote.

She is survived by: two sons, Normand Thibeault and his wife Maddy of Saco, and Roger Thibeault and his wife Roxanne of Biddeford; a daughter, Priscille (Fig) Bardsley and her husband Donald of Nashua, New Hampshire; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews

Private services for Aline will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Aline’s name may be made to the Iris Network, c/o Contributions Office, 189 Park Ave., Portland, ME 04102.
