POWNAL — Nick Lewis died unexpectedly in Massachusetts on March 18, 2015.

He was born on Dec. 2, 1978, to Michael and Gilda Lewis of Pownal. Nick attended Pownal Elementary School and Greely High School.

Nick did a variety of work. Most recently, he was working on a fishing boat out of Massachusetts. Nick had a heart of gold and would light up the room when he walked in. He was a kind man that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Nick was always happy and made people smile when around him. Nick enjoyed going hunting, Nick loved the New York Yankees which is always a good argument with all the Red Sox fans that he knew. You would always see Nick wearing a NY hat.

Nick was predeceased by his grandmother and grandfather,

Mac and Marion Phillips; his grandfather, Carl Lewis, and an uncle, Carleton Lewis.

Nick is survived by his parents Michael and Gilda Lewis of Pownal, his brother Michael and his fiancée Barekah of Gray, his grandmother Alice Lewis of Pownal, his Uncle Keven Lewis of Florida, his Aunt Penny Howe and her husband Dave of Freeport, his Aunt Carol Whitehouse of Chesterville. Nick is also survived by his beautiful niece Jessica Mason, his cousins Tony Golding, Christopher Lewis and Matthew Lewis, and many friends.

A celebration of Nick’s life will be held on April 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 354 Sabbathday Road, New Gloucester, Maine. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Amvets Post # 13, 049 Royalsborough Road, Durham, ME 04222.
