The Boothbay Region Land Trust will lead a kayak trip to Indiantown Island. Meet at the Knickercane Boat Landing off Barters Island Road. Plan to be in the water by 10:30 a.m. A life vest is required. To register, call 633-4818.

Clam Digging 101, 9 to 11 a.m. in Georgetown
Join the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust at Reid State Park in Georgetown and learn to dig for clams in the softshell clam flats with Georgetown’s shellfish warden, Jon Hentz. No clam digging license is needed to dig a peck of clams in the park. Hentz has been warden for several towns in the region for more than a decade. He will share digging techniques and information about the local clam harvesting industry. Participants will discover the importance of clean water to clams and harvesters. Free and open to the public. Participants will need to pay the park entrance fee. Registration is recommended at kennebecestuary.org. To learn more, call 442-8400.
