MANCHESTER, N.H. — Sam Travis hit an RBI single in the 10th inning to plate Manuel Margot and the Portland Sea Dogs (51-86) defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (65-69), 4-3 in 10 innings on Wednesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

The Sea Dogs got the scoring started in the top of the first. After a lead-off single by Margot and a sacrifice bunt by Tzu- Wei Lin, Travis hit an RBI single to put the Sea Dogs up early with a 1-0 lead.

New Hampshire answered in the bottom of the second inning. After a lead-off walk to Matt Newman by Aaron Wilkerson, Jorge Flores came up later in the inning and delivered a two-out single to tie the game at one.

Wilkerson’s win streak ended at three, but he still pitched effectively in receiving a no decision. He allowed an earned run on five hits in five innings, walking three and striking out four. Wilkerson worked out of jams repeatedly early in the game, stranding six Fisher Cats on the bases over the first three innings.

Taylor Cole was effective as well, holding the Sea Dogs scoreless for five straight innings after Portland’s first-inning run. Cole remained in the game into the seventh despite having thrown 96 pitches, and after striking out Carlos Asuaje to lead off the frame, Keury De La Cruz hit a solo homer to right-center field to give the Sea Dogs a 2-1 lead. The home run was Cruz’s team leading ninth of the season.

Dustin Antolin entered the game in relief of Cole and the Sea Dogs loaded the bases, eventually adding another run on a sacrifice fly by Margot to score David Chester and make it 3-1.

Kyle Kaminska worked into the ninth with an opportunity to pick up his first win as a Sea Dog. But, after allowing a one-out single, Shane Opitz hit a two-run homer to tie the game at three and send the contest to extra innings.

Margot led off the top of the 10th with a single off of Wil Browning (1-1). After Lin sacrificed Margot to second, New Hampshire elected to pitch to Travis with first base open and one out. Travis burned the Fisher Cats with an RBI single to center, scoring Margot.
