OLD ORCHARD BEACH — The Old Orchard Beach boys basketball team used a 25-11 second-quarter run to take control and the Seagulls would cruise home with a 67-37 win over Traip.

Traip held an 11-8 lead after the first quarter, but that would be the only quarter the visiting Rangers would outscore the Seagulls.

OOB, which outscored Traip 34-15 in the second half, was led by Ian Regan with 16 points and Sam Custeau with 15.

Evan Christensen added nine points for the Seagulls, who also got eight points from Kyle Allen. Zach Hirst added seven points and Joe Anderson chipped in with six.

Traip was led by Alex Foye with 12 points.

OOB improved to 5-3 on the year with the win.

Westbroo k 60, Biddeford 54

The Tigers held a two-point lead at the half, but the visiting Blue Blazes went on a 38-30 second-half run to pick up the win.

“There is no question we are playing better than at the start of the season and the team is playing well,” said Biddeford coach Justin Tardif. “We just need to be ready to take the next step in progressing as a team in being able to play with a little poise late in the game.”

Patrick Pearl led the Tigers with 22 points, including going 13-of-16 from the free throw line. Alex Millett added 10 points and Kyle Norton chipped in with nine points.

Curtis Knapton led Westbrook with 16 points.

Westbrook improved to 4-4, while Biddeford dropped to 1-7 on the year.

Massabes ic 62, Mars hwood 46

Massabesic beat Marshwood 62-46 thanks to a strong second half where the Mustangs outscored the opposition 38-24.

Tyrus Sprague-Ripley led Massabesic with 23 points and had 14 rebounds. Both Weston Bergeron and Ryan Gullikson added 12 points.

Zach Doyon led Marshwood with 11 points.

Girls Basketball

Tra ip 32, OOB 25

The Seagulls dropped a hard-fought battle with Traip Academy on Tuesday night.

OOB was led by Peyton Feitz with eight points and Brianna Plante finished with six points.

Marina Casey led Traip with 13 points.
