Children’s and Teen Programs

Each month, Wells Public Library celebrates a new popular theme geared toward kids in grades 5-8. On Friday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m., the Random Fandom event will offer crafts, games and snacks while children discuss their favorite aspects of Doctor Who. On Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m., Wells resident Jeanne Gamage will host a class to teach the art of creating a Chinese New Year scroll at Wells Public Library. Learn how to write in Chinese with a brush and learn all about the history of Chinese calligraphy. Although intended for children in grades 5 and up, anyone is welcome. Materials will be provided. Adult Programs

On Thursday, Jan. 7 at 1:30 p.m., the Computer Camp: File Basics event at Wells Public Library will teach people how to save, organize and manage files and folders on their computers. Adult Services Librarian Kristi Bryant will help with her organizational skills to make your digital files more usable for 2016. Computers will be provided. who sews simple dresses to send to girls around the world, will speak at Wells Public Library to teach people more about how the organization works and how to help. The vast number of children around the world without access to clothing makes them susceptible to multiple threats. Those interested are encouraged to bring a lunch and the library will provide free refreshmants. On Wednesday, Jan. 13, Licensed Massage Therapist Reiki Master and the owner of Stress Escapes in Wells, Sue Ramatowski, will explain some of the lesser known health benefits of massage – greater blood flow and circulation, release of toxins from the body and improved muscle health. She’ll also talk about the ancient art of Reiki, which brings a person into balance on four levels; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. On Thursday, Jan. 14 at 1:30 p.m., Library Director Devin Burritt will host a talk at the Wells Public Library about free products to keep a computer running well.
