WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Dylan Olsen scored 3:31 into overtime to send the Portland Pirates to a 3-2 victory against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Sunday at the Mohegan Sun Arena, completing a weekend sweep.

Rocco Grimaldi and Wayne Simpson assisted on the winner.

The Pirates’ Kyle Rau forced overtime, scoring a short-handed goal with 19 seconds remaining in regulation with the goalie off for an extra skater and Portland killing a Chase Balisy slashing penalty.

After a scoreless first period, the Pirates took a 1-0 lead on a short-handed goal from Wade Megan 13:08 into the second.

Tom Kostopoulos tied it on a power play, and Shair Gill put the Penguins on top 5:08 later.

Mike McKenna stopped 32 shots to record his 74th career win, tying him with Jhonas Enroth for second on the Pirates’ career list.

NOTES: The Pirates beat the Penguins 2-1 in overtime on Saturday, gaining four points on the Atlantic Division leaders on the weekend. … The NHL Panthers recalled center Gregg McKegg from Portland. McKegg has nine goals and 12 assists in 31 games for the Pirates this season. … The Pirates signed ECHL forward Tyler Sikura to a PTO.
