KENNEBUNK — A civilian safety awareness program will be held 6-7:30 p.m. May 4 at Kennebunk Free Library, 112 Main St.
The program will teach participants how to identify and avoid dangerous encounters, discourage attackers, use verbal commands and simple selfdefense techniques, use pepper spray effectively and escape an attacker.
Each student will receive pepper spray and a certificate of completion.
The course is free, but registration is required by April 27. To register, call 467-5540.
