Library events for teens
Kennebunk Free Library will host the following events for students in grades 6 to 12 this week at 112 Main St.:
A Teen Advisory Board meeting from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday will discuss teen programs and activities for the summer. Bring your ideas and friends. Snacks will be provided.
Teen Anime Club will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday with the teen librarian to talk about anime, learn to draw characters and watch anime on the projection screen.

Unknown soldier talk
Tom Tudor, a former sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, will present a talk about the history of the cemetery and his service there at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at the Kennebunk Free Library. The talk coincides with Armed Forces Day.

Kids invited to read to dog
Jack, a tail waggin’ tutor, returns to the Kennebunk Free Library from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday to listen to children read.
Children of all ages and abilities are encouraged to read to Jack. Practice gained by reading to a dog has been shown to help students increase reading fluency.
No preregistration is needed to participate.

Rescuers’ host Kitten Shower
A Kitten Shower, benefiting Another Chance Animal Rescue, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 251 Country Club Road. Refreshments will be served.
The all-volunteer rescue group is busy caring for kittens, their moms and other cats.
The wish list of supplies to donate as shower gifts includes wet and dry kitten food, litter, litter boxes, monetary donations for veterinary care, blankets, towels, toys and urine pads. See the group’s wish list at amazon.com.

Senior health fair at hospital
Bridgton Hospital will host its first Senior Health and Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

THOMASTON
Revolutionary War graves
Tours of Revolutionary War veterans’ graves will be offered at 10 and 11 a.m. Saturday at Thomaston Cemetery.
Hosts will be dressed in period attire at each grave to provide a biography of each veteran featured.
Tailgate light refreshments will be provided. Each tour assembles at the brick building on Erin Street at Avenue 1 of the cemetery.

Dances with Horses Sunday
The second annual Dances with Horses event will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Riding to the Top Therapeutic Riding, at 14 Lilac Drive.
There will be riding demonstrations by professionals and a silent auction.

Civil War lecture
The next Joshua L. Chamberlain Civil War Round Table Lecture is at 7 p.m. Thursday at Curtis Memorial Library’s Morrell Room, at 23 Pleasant St.
Speaker Charlie Plummer will give the talk “Life in Civil War Prisons.” Lectures are free and open to the public; donations are appreciated.
