The Portland Sea Dogs (11- 23) recorded 13 hits, their most since opening night at Hadlock Field against Hartford — and defeated the Binghamton Mets (14-17), 6-2 in the Eastern League series opener Thursday night at Hadlock Field.
Making his Hadlock Field
debut and playing in his second game as a Sea Dog, Nate Freiman finished 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Freiman had a two out, RBI double in the first and a two-out, two-run double in the seventh.
Keith Couch held the Mets scoreless through his six plus innings of work, earning his first win as a Sea Dog since August 8, 2014..
