BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Junior High School eighth-grade baseball action earned a pair of wins recently over two area rivals.
Against Mt. Ararat, Henry Burnham’s RBI double scored Adam Nussbaum with the winning run as the Huskies hustled to a 3-2 walk-off win.
Brunswick scored in the second inning on an RBI single by Liam Hemberger brought home Coenradt Taylor, who had earlier doubled. The Huskies added a run in the fourth when Taylor trotted home on a singly by Matty LaForge.
Scout Masse earned the mound win, going the distance on four hits, eight strikeouts and two walks.
Brunswick also handed Bath an 8-0 loss recently. Masse again was stellar on the mound, tossing a one-hitter on nine punch-outs and one walk.
Hemberger and Taylor had two hits apiece, with Owen Richardson and Cam Hathaway chipping in run-scoring hits.
John Phillips had the lone hit for Bath.
In earlier action, Mt. Ararat dropped Brunswick by a 5-4 score. Noah Goddard had two hits in the loss, with Richardson and Hathaway driving in run each in the fifth.
