SANFORD — Do you know the 10 signs of Alzheimer’s disease? A workshop on recognizing those signs will take place at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trafton Senior Center, 19 Elm St.
York County Community Action Corp., the Trafton Center and the Alzheimer’s Association are coming together to host the workshop on the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease.
In the “Know the 10 Signs” workshop, participants will learn the difference between Alzheimer’s and typical age-related changes. Symptoms that may indicate the onset of Alzheimer’s will be explored, and the benefits of early detection will be discussed.
The Alzheimer’s Association notes that with early detection, people can explore treatments that may provide some relief of symptoms and help those diagnosed with the disease maintain a level of independence longer.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
