AUBURN — The Bath Middle School seventh-grade boys basketball team split a pair of games recently.
First, in Auburn, the Destroyers fell behind in the second quarter en route to a 51-33 setback. After a tight 12-11 first quarter, Auburn pulled away and took a 26-19 halftime lead.
Jansen Morrison led Bath with 12 points, while Josh ter Mors notched seven and hauled in a team-high 12 rebounds. The Destroyers converted 1-of-2 free throws and Auburn hit 7-of-16.
Bath rebounded in its next game against Mt. Ararat, using a dominant fourth quarter to secure a 45-35 win.
Mt. Ararat led 8-4, 24-16 and 29-23 at the quarter breaks before the Destroyers reeled off 22 points in the final frame.
Leading the way was Gabe Aucoin with 15 points. Elliot Dorr and ter Mors (12 rebounds) split 22 points, and Morrison brought in eight boards.
Cody Bowlar led Mt. Ararat with 12.
Bath converted 13-of-27 free throws and the Eagles hit 7-of-14.
