BIDDEFORD — Paulette G. Beaudoin, 83, of Biddeford died Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House following a lengthy illness.

She was born July 25, 1933 in Biddeford a daughter of Joseph U. and Emilienne (Valliere) Bouchard and was educated locally, graduating from St. Joseph High School in the class of 1951.

On April 15, 1955 she married Roger O. Beaudoin in St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.

Paulette had represented District 135 in the Maine Legislature from 2006 until 2014. During her tenure at the State House she was most proud of her work on prescription drugs for the elderly as well as working to ensure our State Police received more effective weapons. She also worked on the legislation to ban texting while driving. She was also a member of the Red Hats and the Daughters of Isabella. She had a passion for life and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gilberte Normand and Ruth Jacques.

She is survived by Roger Beaudoin, her husband of 61 years, of Biddeford; two daughters, Diane Turgeon and her husband, Charles, of Saco, and Susan Beaulieu of Biddeford; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Turgeon) Tomah and her husband, Phil, of Saco; a grandson, Jeffrey Turgeon and his wife, Margaret, of Sanford; two great-granddaughters, Malarie Tomah and Annabeth Turgeon; her “adopted daughter,” Laure Wilensky Pinette of Virginia; her nephew, Roger Normand, and his wife, Lynn, of Saco.

Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19 at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
