AUGUSTA

Jenna Brooks and Anna Davis led the way with a hat trick each as the Brunswick High School girls lacrosse team ran away with a 9-4 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference victory over Cony on Friday.

The Dragons improved to 3-1 and play host to defending state Class A champion Messalonskee today at 6 p.m. The Rams fell to 2-2.

Mikaela Aschbrenner was solid in net for Brunswick, turning aside six shots.

Lauren Coniff tallied two goals for Cony.

Boys lacrosse

TOPSHAM — Mt. Ararat exploded for 10 goals in the second half to pull away from Cony for a 13-5 KVAC victory on Thursday.

The Eagles are 3-3 heading into tonight’s matchup with “Battle of the Bridge” rival Brunswick at Bowdoin College (6:30 p.m.).

Connor Brown and Sawyer Watson each scored four goals in the win, with Owen Kelly adding a pair of tallies. Jason Magno, Nick Canter and Steven Schuman also scored a goal. Schuman had two assists, with Brown and Sean Roberts adding a helper each.

In goal, Parker Lacey turned away six shots in the win.

Chad Bickford paced Cony with three goals.

Baseball

KENTS HILL — Ryley Austin singled in the game-winning run in the seventh inning to give Lisbon a 5-4 Mountain Valley Conference win over Oak Hill on Saturday.

The Greyhounds (4-1) rallied from a 3-1 deficit with three runs in the sixth inning as Nick Lerette hit a three-run inside-the-park home run.

Oak Hill (2-2) rallied with a run in the seventh.

Austin was 3-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored.

On the mound, Tyler Halls went five innings on eight strikeouts and three walks. Lucas Francis earned the win with two innings of relief on four punch-outs and one walk.

Red Cote was 2-for-3 for Oak Hill.

Lisbon visits Telstar today at 4 p.m.

Softball

KENTS HILL — Oak Hill used the long ball to prevail over Lisbon, 13-8, in MVC play on Saturday.

The Greyhounds dropped to 2-2 and visit Telstar today at 4 p.m., while the Raiders improved to 4-0.

Kiera Young hit a three-run home run in the first, and Abby Nadeau blasted a two-run shot in the fifth. Nadeau also had a triple in the opening frame as Oak Hill claimed an early 5-0 lead.

Young had three hits to lead the Raiders.

Ali Sult launched a three-run home for Lisbon, one of her three hits.
