PORTLAND (AP) — Police say two teenagers have been accused of stealing a van in Bangor, driving to South Portland and displaying what turned out to be a BB gun.
Staff at the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland called police Friday morning after seeing the driver of a van parked outside the center handling what looked like a gun.
Police say 18-year-old Brenden Fuller was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal trespassing and threating display for a firearm. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer.
A 17-year-old boy was confined to Long Creek on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal threatening.
Police said a search of the van turned up two BB guns that resembled real firearms.
