HARPSWELL — Frank C. Hummer, age 75, of Allen Point Road died suddenly Monday, June 12, at their camp site on China Lake. He was born in Brunswick March 3, 1942 the son of Arthur A. Hummer and Ruth Prince Hummer. He attended Brunswick schools and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1961.

On July 15, 1995, he married Nancy J. Holmes.

Frank owned and operated Dyer’s Green House having started working there at a very young age. After selling Dyer’s he started his own business in construction and excavation.

He was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He and Nancy spent their summers camping at China Lake and always looked forward to the family coming there to kayak and fish. They enjoyed evening fires with their camper friends and numerous pot luck suppers each year.

Surviving is his wife, Nancy of twenty-two years, a sister Mildred Munn of Westbrook, and a brother Alan and his wife Ann of Brunswick. A son, Timothy Hummer of Bath, and a daughter, Lori Hummer of Gorham. He is also survived by four step children, Michael Haskell and fiancé Constance Rose of Bowdoin, David Haskell of Brunswick, Daniel and his wife Janice of Brunswick and Rebecca Taylor Chase of Brunswick. Four grandchildren, Timothy, Amanda, Candace, Bryan and several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his beloved dogs Margaret and Molly and kitty Elizabeth. Memorial visiting hours will be held Wednesday, June 21st from 6-8 PM at Stetson’s Funeral Home 12 Federal St. Brunswick. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 22nd at 2PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Randall Kelloway officiating.

A reception will follow the service at the home of his stepdaughter Becky Taylor- Chase located at 5 Otis Circle in Brunswick.
