The Westbrook American reported on July 24, 1957, that Col. Robert Jensen of Westbrook, was selected as one of two men from Maine to witness an atomic explosion in Nevada. Jensen was commander of the 103rd Regimental Combat Team in the Maine National Guard.

A  real estate advertisement said a small, retirement home with full basement, modern bath, new garage and a half-acre lot in Gorham was available for $5,200.
