PORTLAND

Both the boys and girls basketball teams from Greely came away with victories over Hampden Academy in the Class A State Championship Thursday night at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.

A free throw by Shane DeWolfe with 5.5 seconds left gave the Rangers a 47-46 victory,.

Zach Brown led Greely with 16 points, and Jack Kane scored 14.

On the girls side, Hampden Academy scored the first six points of the game, but then Greely turned it on, running away to a 53-38 victory.

Sophomore guard Brooke Obar led the Rangers with 17 points, along with six steals and six rebounds. DeWolfe added 16 points, four assists and three steals, while Camille Clement added 10 points for Greely ( 20-2).
