BIDDEFORD — The University of New England chalked up a 19-2 women’s lacrosse victory over Thomas College on Friday afternoon at the Big Blue Turf.
Natasha Nary paced the Nor’easters (3-2) with five goals and three assists, while Caitlyn Irish tallied four goals and two helpers.
UNE, which led 14-0 at halftime and had a 40-5 advantage in shot attempts for the game, received scoring contributions from Alayna Miller (3), Shania Clark (2), Julia Benjamin (2), Rebekah Guay (Biddeford) (2), and Rachel Lowe. Mackenzie Millikan and Meghan Mazzocchi each chipped in a pair of assists.
Amber Jenkins guided the midfield effort for Big Blue with six draw controls, and LaMia LaFlamme (Biddeford) had team highs of five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Taylor Hopkins made a couple saves for the goalkeeping decision.
For the Terriers (0-1), Alexis Felch and Amira Jones found the back of the cage in the 2nd period. Sydni Collier finished with 12 saves and game highs of seven ground balls and five caused turnovers.
