Scarborough — Joyce F. Hebert of Scarborough Terrace passed away peacefully on April 22, 2018.

She was born in Daigle on September 14, 1936, the daughter of Remie and Elizabeth (Pelletier) Pelletier. She was educated in the Fort Kent School system and went to college where she received her degree in education. Joyce was a school teacher for many years in the Madawaska and Fort Kent school systems.  She loved teaching and was a perfectionist. She had the best penmanship around. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Her favorite pastimes were collecting recipes and shopping.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter Danica, she would light up at the mention of her name.

Joyce was preceded in death by: her husband, Philip Hebert; a brother, Robert Pelletier; and a sister, Yvette Whittemore.

She is survived by: her son, Scott Hebert and his wife, Lorie and their daughter, Danica of Dayton; a sister, Ann Cowan of Old Orchard Beach; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone at Scarborough Terrace and Compassus Hospice for their love and care for Joyce over the years.

A funeral Mass will be held at Most Holy Trinity Church, 271 Main St., Saco at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018. Burial will be held at the St. Louis Cemetery, Fort Kent, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Philip, on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 1 p.m. Dennett Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco, is respectfully handling the arrangements.
