BIDDEFORD — Carmen C. Boutin, 96, of Biddeford, passed away on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at the Newton Center in Sanford.

She was born in Canada on Sept, 3, 1921 a daughter of the late Arthur and Josephine (Ouellette) Brine.  When she was a young child the family moved to Sanford from Canada.

She had been employed at the Portland Shipyard as a welder.  When she married Bernard they moved and made their home in Biddeford where she continued working and retired from the Pepperell Mill. Carmen was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish.

She enjoyed the outdoors, taking in the rays of the sun.  She loved working in her yard making she her gardens were well manicured.  She also enjoyed walks on the beach in the summers as well as the winter months.

She is predeceased by her husband, Bernard Boutin who passed in 2002. She is also predeceased by her siblings, Lucille Allaire, Theresa Tuttle, Emile Brine.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her niece Deb who thought of  her as a second mother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 26 at 10 a.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford.  Burial will be at a later date at the Veterans Cemetery in Augusta.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Newton Center for the care given to Carmen during her stay.
