Community exhibit holds grand opening Saturday

“New Gloucester From Then ‘Til Now… and Today: A Community Exhibit ” will have its formal grand opening from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the New Gloucester History Barn, 383 Intervale R0ad. (Route 231).

The exhibit features the work of many members and friends who have displayed with visuals, narratives and artifacts the various neighborhoods of the town. Refreshments including special cheeses from the local Lazy Dog Creamery will be available. The event is free to attend.

Garden club plant, bake sale scheduled for Saturday

The Osewantha Garden Club of South Portland will hold its annual plant and bake sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Shoppers Hardware Store in Millcreek Shopping Center, rain or shine.

Church society to host garden day yard sale

The Ladies’ Society of the First Congregational Church of Kennebunkport will host its annual “Garden Day & Yard Sale” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m Saturday at 141 North St.

Items for sale will include plants, seeds, vases and pots. The yard sale will offer a variety of miscellaneous items including a vintage jewelry table.

CAPE NEDDICK

Wells alumni golf tourney scheduled Sunday morning

The Seventh Annual Wells High School Alumni Association Golf Tournament will be held Sunday morning at the Cape Neddick Country Club at 650 Shore Road.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by the tournament’s Shotgun Start at 8:30. The four-player team scramble format has a fee of $100 per player, which includes expenses for golf cart, prizes and lunch. There will be a raffle with offers from local businesses plus various contests and other prizes.

Each player will receive two “hole-in-one” chances (rules apply) to win either a 2018 Ford Focus from Starkey Ford or a Husqvarna lawn tractor from Eliot Small Engine Repair.

Registration forms can be found at www.wellshighalumni.org. Registration fees are considered a tax-deductible donation and are due with the registration form.

Funds raised from this event will go toward the Association’s Scholarship Fund.
