FIREFIGHTERS battled a fire that destroyed a barn on Millay Road Saturday afternoon but kept the fire from spreading to another barn and to a nearby house. The barn is a complete loss and the cause of the fire is under investigation. “It is believed it was an accidental cause but we’re still looking into it,” Bowdoin Fire Chief Tom Garrepy said. The barn belongs to Mason Shives, who praised the firefighters. “They got here fairly quickly and they’ve done an awesome job. I couldn’t be more thankful. I really do appreciate it.
