SACO — Patricia Kopetski, 81, of Saco died unexpectedly at her home on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018.

She was born Jan. 6, 1937 in Biddeford to Philip L. and Marion L. (Powers) Kopetski.  She attended St. Mary’s School and was a 1955 graduate of Biddeford High School.

After high school she became a member of the Sisters of Mercy and remained with the community for 25 years.  She studied at St. Joseph’s College, receiving her bachelor’s degree, and taught in many of the schools run by the sisters, including St. Mary’s in Biddeford.  Later she was a teacher and principal in Bangor and Lewiston public schools.

Patricia enjoyed shopping, and the company of her cat Dallia.

She is survived by a sister, Martha Martel of Saco; two brothers, Philip Kopetski, Jr. and wife Dottie of Arundel and John Kopetski and wife Carol of Jasper, Georgia; five nieces and nephews, Robert Ross, Cathy Mondor, Patricia Ross, Timothy Kopetski, and Debra Clifford; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Anne’s Chapel of St. Joseph Church at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
